I don’t know about you, but I am an unabashed fan of eric sondheimer. I love his books, his website, his podcast, and his TEDx talk. He has a way of articulating how we are all conditioned to think that our self-awareness is all there is, but that’s not true. The only thing you are aware of are the thoughts that you have about yourself.
If we are unaware of our own thoughts, then we can’t really control our own thoughts, and that applies to everything. A person who lives at home in a regular, boring, and uneventful way is bound to think about things that don’t affect the people around them. Someone who lives in an event-filled, exciting, and busy way is bound to think about things that are important to her. These thoughts will then be reflected in her actions and choices.
Most of the time we don’t even know that we have thoughts that are important to us except for when we take them out of context and say them out loud. For example, I’m a car enthusiast and I have a bad habit of driving fast and driving too fast. When I was a teenager I was always in a hurry. I was always thinking about how fast I could get to my destination and think about how I could get even faster.
The biggest issue with the content of this article is the fact that it’s only for the first few paragraphs. The other thing I will say about it is that the content is a great distraction for most people. There are some things you can do to make it better.
