This blog post is from my trip to Portugal. It highlights the importance of the three levels of self-awareness that I mentioned in the title to you.
Self-awareness is a big part of what it means to be human, and it’s a big part of what it means to be a part of this world. We are not the sum of our thoughts, ideas, feelings, and emotions. We are a complex collection of many facets and layers.
Here is the story: I am a little late on the date. At the moment I’m in my apartment, looking out at a distant city. I have my hands full, but the walls around me are just a tiny bit too thin. I’m in the middle of the street, walking with my bare feet, and I’m about to get a picture of myself. I’m on my phone, talking to myself.
The walls around me are a small bit of nothingness. They are thin, but they’re thin, and that is all that is between me and the world. I am not the sum of my thoughts and ideas. I am not a collection of feelings and emotions. I am a complex collection of many facets and layers.
A number of other bloggers have written about the difference between thinking and feeling, and the more I think about it, the more I think that this is a crucial distinction. But in my opinion, you can’t really get to the bottom of it until you have self-awareness. A person who has self-awareness knows what they want and doesn’t let their desires run wild.
There is a great book by the famous psychologist Daniel Goleman called “Self-Awareness”. It is a book about how to be an “aware” person. In it, he talks about how our thoughts, feelings, and memories are actually the mirroring of our physical state. By learning to be aware, we can see how our thoughts and feelings are actually our physical state. It’s all part of a bigger process of self-awareness.
We can also see this in our own lives. If we can read our thoughts and feelings, we can use that knowledge to our advantage. We can know when we are in the “zone,” where we are in a state of the highest level of awareness. So, when we are really stressed out, we can take a few deep breaths and use the self-awareness to find our zone.
It sounds counterintuitive, but when we are stressed we actually want to be in our zone. The reason is because being in the zone is the state of most people. We feel at our best when we are in the zone, when we are relaxed, and at our worst when we are in the zone. We can use this information to our advantage. When we are stressed, our first instinct is to get out of the zone.
That’s why we use the concept of the “zone” in meditation. It’s not just about being in the zone, but about being relaxed in the zone. In fact, the zone is so important to our health because it’s a reflection of our physical, mental, and emotional needs. If you are stressed, you probably are not getting enough of the things that really matter to you. If you are stressed you are probably not taking care of yourself.
We get a lot of questions about how we should be taking care of ourselves, how we should be taking care of our relationships. And the truth is that if you are stressed out, you probably need a little help. We don’t just need to take care of our bodies. We need to take care of our minds, and our bodies.
